The mission of ACU’s NEXT Lab is to provide global solutions to the world’s need for energy, water and medical isotopes by advancing the technology of molten salt reactors while educating future leaders in nuclear science and engineering.
The NEXT Lab Summer Student Internship is designed as a 10- to 12-week program at the NEXT Lab in Abilene, TX.
Interns will work 40 hours a week and will be assigned to a research mentor, obtaining real-world experience with the engineers, physicists, chemists, mathematicians, and computer scientists that are building the molten salt research reactor (MSRR). Our interns come from a variety of disciplines in addition to those mentioned above.
Internships begin with a full-day orientation on May 28, 2024. Applicants must submit to a background check. Please note that proof of citizenship may be required for export-controlled work. For questions or concerns, contact Bicky Tolar.
On-Campus Housing Option: University Park Apartments 4 bed, 2 bath
- Price: $160/week per person with an additional $175 cleaning fee per person.
